Organize contacts into groups
Create groups for work, family or projects to find people faster.
- Allow contact access and display the contacts you want to organize.
- Create and name a group, then select the contacts to include.
- Switch groups to check their members. On Android, you can also organize contacts with drag-and-drop.
Contact edits may sync to the accounts configured on your device. Make a backup before editing or deleting contacts in bulk.
Select group email and SMS recipients
Choose recipients together, then send with your usual app.
- Open a group and select contacts for an email or SMS.
- Select the email addresses you need. On iOS, you can assign To, CC and BCC recipients.
- Review recipients and content in your device’s email or messaging app, then send.
GContact Lite does not send emails or texts automatically. Sending options and recipient limits depend on your device and sending app.
Back up and restore contacts
Keep a copy of your contacts in a storage location you choose.
- Use the backup feature to create a copy of your current contacts.
- Android stores backups in the app and lets you export a file to local or cloud storage. On iOS, enabling iCloud backup also saves a copy in iCloud.
- Before restoring, check the file’s location and compatible app, and back up your current contacts first.
iOS and Android backup files are not interchangeable. Android exports have no app-specific encryption, so choose a secure storage destination.
If contacts are missing
Check device permissions and contact-account settings.
- Check that GContact Lite has contact access in your device settings.
- Check whether the contacts also appear in your device’s built-in contacts app.
- For Google, iCloud or Exchange contacts, check the account’s contact-sync settings.
If you still need help, send support your OS and app version and the steps that led to the issue. You do not need to attach your address book or backup files.
